In planning a renovation project in occupied commercial space, architects cope with unique requirements while considering both of the following resources. These include:
- Work must be completed during off-hours, so as not to impact normal prime-time business activity
- The procedure must be cost effective...reasonably priced and long lasting
- Furnishings must be protected and cannot be removed from the area
- The finished appearance must be that of a new ceiling, including grids, air diffuser, etc
- There cannot be lingering offensive odors, inhibiting early occupancy
Satisfying all of these requirements has been difficult in the past. Following is a quick summary of the summary of the alternatives that have been available to the architect.
